The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1925: Skirmish Situation

Chapter 1925: Skirmish Situation

Alexander has no words.

The test was made to measure their grit, but the summoned knights were wiped out instead in one sweep.

From the moment the words came from the High Lord that there would be additional helpers mixed into the squadron to tackle the next mission, Alexander protested. The Red Skull Elite Force should be more than enough for any assignment.

If the High Lord needed manpower, then his men would do it.

If the High Lord needed people who could keep secrets, then he would provide the men who’d rather die a thousand times than expose the secrets.

If the High Lord needed anything, his squadron would provide.

But now, seeing the three helpers that were sent in person, Alexander realized the reason why the High Lord decided to involve these three. From how these three tackle the test, he understood the reason. ’It’s because of their unconventional means.’

As trained as the Red Skull Elite Force was, they were standardized.

None of them deviated from the values that they were taught.

And though that made them incredible soldiers, fiercely loyal to the High Lord and reliable, they lacked the necessary trait to go past the line of normalcy. In certain niche situations, they might not be able to complete the task at hand.

Seems like this assignment is one of those niche situations.

’Not to mention,’ Alexander’s eyes fixated on Rex. ’He does not have an overwhelming aura that could suppress mine. He doesn’t seem to be hostile either. But for some reason, he feels... dangerous. Someone with a similar air to the High Lord. I heard they came from the Spirit Realm, a strong realm, but I find it hard to believe that it could produce someone like him.’

"High Milinar Alexander," Rex called, snapping Alexander out of his daze. "Did we pass the test?"

"Spectacularly," He nodded.

Alexander reached the sky with his hand, and the ground quaked again.

Before their very eyes, the colossal sword trembled violently and wrenched itself from the earth with a sudden, deafening pull. It hovered above them—glowing with a terrible light, and began to consume everything. The ground. The space around them. The grass. The horizon. The sky itself. All of it, drawn into the blade.

It melted space in real-time and exposed a spacious, cold steel enclosure beyond it.

From the very start, Rex and the others were already inside a military settlement.

Around them, soldiers in identical hooded black uniforms and red skull masks moved with fully robotic efficiency, making the final preparations before departure. At a glance, there had to be at least a hundred of them, and the weakest among them was a four-star Demigod.

Only a few were at the one-star Awakened Demigod.

Davina and Lilliana really need to become a Demigod.

Rex’s brows furrowed.

Both of them could fare well against these people, but killing them would be a hard thing to do.

Insufficient divinity meant landing a killing blow would be far more difficult. Even if Davina unleashed the same attack she’d used earlier against a large group of Demigods, only a few at the epicenter would die permanently. The rest, those caught at the outer edges, would survive.

Not because she was weak, but because her divinity is insufficient.

Both of them have minor divine strands from becoming a Silverstar, but that’s not even close to enough.

"Welcome to the Red Shade Garrison," Alexander welcomed, spreading his arms to the side.

He gestured for them to follow him before walking away.

Along the way, he explained that they were currently in the Skull Realm, which was the home realm of the Red Skull Elite Force. Through called a realm, it was more of a pocket dimension, spanning nearly a hundred miles in radius.

However, the entire realm was packed with weaponry production, soldier academies, and military bases.

At the very heart of the Skull Realm lay the Red Skull Elite Force’s base—and this was where they now stood. This particular section of the realm, comprising two academies, a few hundred barracks, three blacksmith forges, and a command center, belonged entirely to Alexander and his squadron.

Earlier, when Rex heard a squadron, he was expecting to be a few hundred soldiers.

But the moment he stepped out of the blacksmith building, he saw them—far more soldiers than before.

About a thousand or two more, which made it closer to a wing than a squadron.

It seemed the definition of squadron differed here compared to his home realm.

"Since we’re going to sweep the Grey Realm of invaders, the entire squadron would be deployed," Alexander explained, and then pointed at a few mean-looking armored vehicles on the side. "I’m not aware if the Spirit Realm has vehicles, but these are our main vehicles that are reinforced with special metal that could withstand a barrage of Awakened Demigods’ attacks."

He turned to the other side.

On top of what looked like a hangar, there are several massive creatures.

Reptilian creatures of all kinds—Dragons, Wyverns, Drakes, and even Wyrms.

Each one has a rider on top, a one-star Awakened Demigod. One black dragon, the biggest of them all, doesn’t have a rider, which led Rex to believe it to be Alexander’s mount. And then there’s also a dark crimson Drake that has a stronger rider.

Military vehicles dominated the land, and giant creatures dominated the sky.

For one, Rex quite agreed with the lineup.

Airplanes, even if constructed from the same reinforced materials as armored vehicles, could be brought down simply by destabilizing them in flight. But giant creatures—born to rule the sky wouldn’t fall so easily.

Muscles and energy made them impossible to knock down.

Only a stronger force could do that.

On land, armored vehicles held the advantage; they could be built heavier while keeping a small frame.

Since the land would remain dominated by soldiers, a vehicle is better than creatures to deliver soldiers.

"Yes," Alexander pointed at the massive obsidian dragon. "That right there is my partner. Born from the heart of obsidian, blessed by the Lizard God, and it has even comprehended the Major Law of Scales." He shot Rex a sideways glance. "Go on—try punching it. I’d wager your hand breaks first."

"No, thank you," Rex snickered at the invitation. "I’ll be one foolish man to make a lizard the size of a building angry."

"What about you girls?" Alexander shifted to the sisters, "Want to try?"

"I don’t want to ruin my hand," Lilliana shook her head; she was already back to her normal form.

"Hmph," Davina flicked her hair. "Brute men and their rough plays."

Soon, the four of them arrived at the command center. It was a sprawling rectangular building crowned by a central dome. On the front grounds, soldiers were busy gearing up, their movements practiced and efficient. One by one, they cast glances toward the visitors.

Not a friendly glance, but a judging one.

And the moment they saw Alexander leading the visitors, every soldier dropped what they were doing— and snapped into a perfect salute. "These are the stronger bunch in the squadron," Alexander remarked. "A bit temperamental, but what soldier isn’t?"

Alexander turned to face the sisters, "Rex and I will need to have a brief meeting. Before either of you complains, this isn’t about trust. There’s a structure in place here. Only the representative of a particular group is permitted to give input. Do you understand?"

Davina wanted to refute.

She also wanted to be present in the meeting, but Rex stopped her.

"We’re going to be working alongside these soldiers," Rex whispered; his gaze glancing at the soldiers on the front yard who were watching them with open scrutiny. "I’ll tell you everything that’s discussed after, but in the meantime, care to do something about their hostility?"

"How am I going to do that?"

"One of them would poke you. Just show that you’re not a pushover."

"Okay," Davina finally yielded, unable to resist when Rex spoke to her softly like this. "I’ll stay."

Once that was handled, Rex gave Alexander a nod, and the two of them entered the command center.

Rex was led through a series of open archways, deeper and deeper into the building, then up a level. On the second floor, he stepped into a circular room crowned by the glass dome—the sky above impassive and pale, pressing down in silence.

At the center, there was a long stone table with what looked like a map and a few markers.

Alexander stood there and gestured for Rex to stand across from him.

"I don’t know if Liebert already explained to you about this, but in case he hadn’t, let me brief you in," Alexander placed both hands on the table, supporting his massive body. "High Lord Rashal, due to his meteoric rise to the House of Lords, made many enemies along the way. One of them is High Lord Ursa, who was long-story-short, humiliated by High Lord Rashal.

"Ever since, there have been skirmishes between High Lord Rashal’s cluster and his cluster. And after we lost a bastion realm on the border, the enemy gained access to the Grey Realm, which was quite an important farm realm."

Looking down at the map on the table, Alexander pointed at the three flagged points on it.

Each one was separated quite far away from the others.

"I have fought their forces before. When they assault a realm, they don’t aim for the divine sources first to cut off reinforcements to come—they target the strongest faction and sow chaos instead. Their goal isn’t occupation." Alexander paused, the weight of his next words darkening his expression. "It’s complete annihilation. Losing a farm realm would really reflect poorly on the High Lord. The Overseer’s people measure High Lords by their divine strand contributions."

"And what is their main measure of attack?" Rex asked, crossing his arms.

"Water bodies."

"Water bodies?"

"Yes," Alexander also folded his arms. "Our forces hold the advantage in raw strength, and they know it. But their leader, Manvac, possesses the Major Law of Life Water. He can tap into nearly every water source in a realm—causing floods, draining it dry, or even using water sources as gateways to transport his entire force to catch us off guard."

"Huh..." Rex was surprised by this. "That’s a real problem."

Just his law powers alone were already catastrophically strong, so much so that he couldn’t even begin to imagine the sheer scale of a Major Law. And according to Alexander’s descriptions, Major Law could influence an entire realm.

It was a staggering scale.

"What about the inhabitants? How would they fare?"

"Grey Realm is a low-tier realm. Its inhabitants are weak and could barely provide any help."

"Then why make that realm a farm realm?"

"I don’t know for sure, but I heard a farm realm is based entirely on compatibility with a divine source."

"And?" Rex raised a brow. "What is your plan?"

"My plan is that we take and secure the cores from the Divine Sources to minimize our loss—and also prepare to lock the realm so that they couldn’t get out by placing Sky Binds on four different points," He marked four points on the map. "And then we’ll start to hunt them down."

"What if they decided to change plans? What if they decided to attack the Divine Sources first?"

"That’s not going to happen. I know them."

"And they know you know them."

"If that’s the case, then we’ll fight. Without the Divine Sources, the Baby-blue Periwinkles under the surface would lose their innate protections, and Manvac could simply sweep everything with his Major Law. Our loss would be catastrophic."

Even though they could win the battle with their stronger forces, Rex had one question in mind.

One question that Alexander was dreading right now.

"Let’s say they really did not aim for the Divine Sources—but instead focus on wiping out the inhabitants, what would happen then?"

"Then the Grey Realm would need to be attended by us directly in order to keep it running," Alexander clenched his jaw. "And that’ll weaken our forces across the cluster..."
